Bat-watching
october 11, 2019
We drove out to the Yolo County Bypass to watch the nightly emergence of a huge flock (around 250,000) Mexican free-tailed bats! And, this year, we were joined by bat specialist, Leila Harris, who told us about her field experience and research, and of course, the bats we saw!
arboretum Scavenger hunt
october 12, 2019
Every year, we have a scavenger hunt in the arboretum (a 100-acre landscaped area on the south perimeter of campus), which gets members outside and exploring Davis. Participants are split into teams and emailed clues to hunt for specific plants, animals, and locations, which they must take a photo with upon finding.
This event is always a fun way to spend the afternoon appreciating the beauty of the UC Davis campus and getting to know other SEEDlingS.
