Volunteering with Tree davis
november 9, 2019
A small group of SEEDlingS went out to volunteer at a Tree Davis event. Tree Davis is an organization that works to maintain the trees and planted areas in our urban environment. They conduct a variety of projects in the greater Davis area, and this morning it was trail construction!
Participants agreed that it was a workout, but a great time all around.

Nimbus fish hatchery tour
november 16, 2019
SEEDlingS visited the Nimbus Fish Hatchery, a facility near Folsom that was constructed after the completion of the Nimbus Dam, to allow salmon to complete their runs up the Sacramento Delta. To encourage the fish to move upstream, the hatchery has built a special "fish ladder" to mimic the environmental conditions present before human development. We got to check out the fish ladder, and get a tour of the rest of the facility and hatchery. It was super fun, and complete with beautiful views of the American river!
Santa cruz bioblitz and butterflies
november 23, 2019
Last year, we drove down to Santa Cruz to see the monarch butterfly migration and participate in a Bioblitz at the Younger Lagoon. That event was such a hit, we decided to do it again!
In addition to seeing the butterflies and the lagoon, we headed to Natural Bridges State Beach, where everyone got a much-needed ocean fix for the afternoon.
